NOTICES OF PROPOSED RULES: (The date in parentheses is the date the rules were filed in the Legislative Research Council):

Department of Education and Cultural Affairs: South Dakota Board of Education: (February 18, 1999) is considering adoption of vocational education rules to revise the postsecondary technical institute funding formula. The general authority for these rules, as cited by the department, is SDCL 13-39-13, 13-39-17, and 13-39-37.

A public hearing will be held in Room 200, Health/Science Center, Southeast Technical Institute, 2301 Career Place, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on March 15, 1999, at 1:15 p.m. (CST). Copies of the proposed rules may be obtained from and written comments sent to the South Dakota Board of Education, 700 Governors Drive, Pierre, South Dakota 57501-2291. Material sent by mail must be received by March 12, 1999. This hearing is being held in a physically accessible place. Persons who have special needs for which the department can make arrangements are asked to call (605) 773-3426 at least 48 hours before the hearing.

FILINGS IN THE SECRETARY OF STATE'S OFFICE:

Executive Appointments:

Nettie H. Myers, Pierre, was appointed on January 9, 1999, subject to Senate confirmation, as Secretary of the Department Environment and Natural Resources, effective January 9, 1999, and to continue at the pleasure of the Governor.

Christine Hamilton, Kimball, was appointed on February 16, 1999, to the Game, Fish and Parks Commission, to replace Dr. Wayne Carr, effective immediately and to continue until January 10, 2002.

Harvey C. Jewett, Aberdeen, was reappointed on February 16, 1999, to the State Board of Regents, effective March 31, 1999, and to continue until March 31, 2005.

Susan Harlan, North Sioux City, was appointed on February 17, 1999, to the Board of Economic Development, to replace Shalmerdean Knuths, effective immediately, and to continue until April 19, 2000.

 

CORRECTION: On page 108 of the Register dated February 16, 1999, under Administrative Rules: delete DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES and insert DEPARTMENT OF GAME, FISH AND PARKS.
