Department of Transportation: (August 30, 1999) intends to adopt a rule to amend the speed zone in Corson County on SD Highway 63 in McLaughlin by extending the existing speed zones farther south. The general authority for this rule, as cited by the department, is SDCL 32-25-7.

A public hearing will be held in the Commission Room, Becker-Hansen Building, 700 East Broadway, Pierre, South Dakota, on September 23, 1999, at 9:05 a.m. Copies of the proposed rule may be obtained from and written comments sent to the Secretary of Transportation, Room 202, Becker-Hansen Building, 700 East Broadway, Pierre, South Dakota 57501-2586. Material sent by mail must reach the Department of Transportation by September 22, 1999, to be considered. This hearing is being held in a physically accessible place. Persons who have special needs for which the department can make arrangements may call (605) 773-3265 at least forty-eight hours before the hearing.

DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES:

The Department of Social Services has filed updates for the Food Stamp Certification and Accountability Manual. The updates explain certain requirements in the current federal food stamp regulations incorporated into ARSD 67:13:01:01.

Rules Review Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the Interim Rules Review Committee will be held Tuesday, October 19, 1999, in Legislative Conference Rooms 1 and 2, Third Floor, State Capitol, Pierre, starting at 9:00 a.m. Agencies whose rules have had a public hearing are asked to have a representative present at the meeting to give background information on their rules.
