DEPARTMENT OF GAME, FISH AND PARKS: (December 21, 1999) intends to adopt EMERGENCY rules to extend the elk hunting season in Unit 411A in Bennett County for antlerless elk only and Unit 430A in Gregory County (areas within Nebraska are not included) for antlerless elk only from January 1, 2000, to January 31, 2000, inclusive, in order to achieve a reasonable harvest to minimize depredation to private property. The general authority for these rules, as cited by the department, is SDCL 41-2-18 and 41-8-1.

A copy of the proposed rules may be obtained from the Department of Game, Fish and Parks, 523 East Capitol, Pierre, South Dakota, 57501.
